Wow! We have a variety of opportunities with this fascinating site of historic magical beauty – full of exciting opportunities for the entrepreneur & anyone with positive vision & a real passion.

Offered with:

8 acres of land (additional parkland available)
small scenic lake
water borehole with abstraction licence for a large volume of water
streams, historical ruins with cellars beneath
Downing Dell with the ancient wishing well, plunge pool & additional small stream
many specimen trees

The lake

Approximately 125 metres x 20 metres, it has a stream running into it and through to the exit under the stone bridge where it enters a fish trap construction and out over a waterfall. The lake has grassland to its western side, with a backdrop wooded bank to its eastern side dominated by giant redwoods and other mature trees.

The lake can be approached by vehicles over a hardcore road which passes over a bridge at the end of the lake. There is potential to increase the size of the lake.

Amongst other mature trees there are two walnut trees; which bear a good crop of nuts. There is a fine view of the Dee Estuary and Irish Sea from one area of the parkland.

The Borehole

A valuable established spring water source from a 51-metre borehole into carboniferous sandstone volcanic in origin. Good wholesome water with excellent test results and provenance, housed in an insulated timber cabin within a security-fenced compound. Water is a finite natural resource growing more scarce with ever-increasing huge demands upon water. It can be used for drinking, domestic use and to harvest underground heat.

The Ruins

are the remains of a 17th century Hall with lots of history. The main part was destroyed by fire in 1922, and later dynamited in 1953, yet there are still some stone & brick remains today.

The Intriguing Cellars

The cellars beneath the remaining ruins have vaulted arch ceilings. There are still some cellars waiting to be explored.

Offered with 8 acres of land; there is additional parkland of up to 16.25 acres available by separate negotiation.  There is the option to purchase the additional adjoining 18th century cottage by separate negotiation – Details of Georgian cottage – available by separate negotiation
